After graduating as an electronics engineer, Weng worked for two years in the industry before studying theology at Nazarene Theological College. After graduation, he served as a pastor in an Alliance Church based in Hong Kong for six years until autumn of 2019. He then embarked on a Ph.D. journey in the depths of Deuteronomy.
This thesis explores the rhetoric of Deuteronomy’s covenant language by focusing on the covenant event mentioned in Deut 4, 5, 9, and 29. Approaching the text in its final form and its relevance to the postexilic communities. This research contributes to the understanding of Deuteronomy’s rhetoric and covenant continuity in postexilic times.
